Gulden’s Glarometer Test Card Helps Patients Understand Their Pre-operative
Glare and Their Post-operative Improvement.
The assurance the Glarometer Test brings helps
make surgery a better experience for our patients.”
ELKINS PARK, PA -- The Glarometer
Test Card from Gulden Ophthalmics uniquely helps measure and actually quantifies
a patient’s perception of glare. Eye care professionals find that it is
a very useful tool in quantifying a refractive or cataract patient’s pre-
and post-operative glare sensitivity.
According to an ophthalmologist, “We routinely use the Glarometer test
on all our surgical patients. After surgery we can then demonstrate improvement
or equal perception of glare with the test. This re-assures the patient that
any glare that they see is improved or the same post surgery. The Glarometer
objectively demonstrates to patients that any glare is not "new" but
just better observed due to their new state of hyper vigilance after the surgery.
This assurance alone helps to make the surgical procedures a much better experience
for our patients.”
The Gulden Glarometer
Test Cards measure 11” by 11” and include a bright blue/white
LED at their center, powered by easily obtainable and replaceable coin-sized
batteries. Five concentric imprinted and numbered circles guide the patient
to rate his or her glare from 1 to 5, which translates from minimum to moderate
to extensive.
