New Product News from Gulden Ophthalmics
Gulden Ophthalmics releases another time-saving, instructive tool for eye
care professionals.
ELKINS PARK, PA – Eye care professionals encourage patients to report
unusual, new or troublesome visual symptoms so they can effectively monitor
a patient’s eye health. These conditions can be serious and are of deep
concern to the eye care professional and patient alike. Floaters can just
be bothersome –or harbingers of impending retinal detachment. Therefore
professionals want their patients to report these phenomena and also have
a simple, effective model to explain them to patients once they are classified
as less ominous and just age changes associated with vitreous detachment or
condensation.
The Siepser Vitreous Floater Demonstrator from Gulden quickly demonstrates
how floaters, including the Weiss Ring, are caused and how they may affect
the patient’s vision. By shining a penlight through the demonstrator’s
lens, creating shadows on the model’s platform for the patient to observe,
the demonstrator quickly and easily helps the practitioner explain the “shadowing”
effect on the patient’s vision.
The demonstrator provides the opportunity to help ease patient concern and
greatly assists the professional to explain floaters. The Floater Demonstrator
is a useful, versatile tool that helps save chair time. In addition, it realistically
shows floaters, can reassure patients that their condition is common, and
helps the eye care practitioner explain benign versus serious conditions.
The demonstrator’s utility is a result of its authentic, realistic
appearance and detail. The demonstrator model eye measures three inches in
diameter and is mounted on a white, sturdy, opaque plastic base.
