The Corneal Transplant Eye Model is very useful in explaining and demonstrating to patients the corneal transplantation procedure. It is also an extremely good teaching aid for professional and supporting staff education about the procedure.

The cornea can be damaged from accidents, infections, genetic defects, and other trauma. The new Gulden eye model clearly shows where and how incisions are made either by trephine or laser to remove the old cornea. The model helps show where the new donor cornea will be placed and where fine sutures will be made to secure it in place.

The model realistically depicts the cornea (which can be "flapped open" to simulate removal), the pupil, the iris ring of muscle fibers, the sclera and the blood vessels that vascularize it and the anterior chamber all very useful in explaining and demonstrating the procedure.

The Gulden Corneal Transplant Eye Model is an ideal companion to Gulden's Cornea Conditions Eye Model, which includes interchangeable corneas that quickly and easily demonstrate to patients bullous keratopathy, Fuch's endothelial dystrophy, keratoconus, recurrent corneal erosion and a normal cornea. Gulden also offers an extensive line of other eye models that aid patient understanding of the eye and its conditions.
