Non-compliance of eye drop use is a major problem in terms of treating patients with diseases and conditions such as glaucoma, eye infections, dry eyes, Uveitis, and allergies, to name just a few. Patient difficulties in properly instilling drops are often a result of unsteady hands, inability to grip and squeeze small eye drop bottles, a blink reaction to the bottle tip nearing the eye, missing the eye with the drop, etc. Often, patients don't realize they are not instilling drops properly and then repeat their bad habits. This might especially be the case with older patients who suffer from arthritis or Parkinson's and younger patients who often rush through their eye drop treatment routine.

The Opticare Eye Drop Dispenser makes it easy to comply with medication treatment routines and are advantageous for the people who struggle with eye drops.

The design of the Opticare Eye Drop Dispenser simplifies using eye drops by making squeezing the bottles easier. The unique shape and texture help create a better grip, increasing user ability and accuracy. The design of the eye piece helps "aim" the correct placement of the drop in the eye, and is designed for comfort and safety. The eye piece also holds the upper lid to eliminate the blink reflex problem. The drop dispensers can be used with almost all round and oval eye drop bottles. They easily fit into a pocket or handbag, and their durable construction makes them ideal for long term use and utility.

I have Charcot-Marie-Tooth syndrome. This causes the hands to be very weak. i can't squeeze an eye drop bottle AT ALL. This dispenser is designed to be used with 1 hand. I'm too weak for that, but I can squeeze it by pressing it between my 2 palms. The only trouble I have with it is in opening it to put the bottle in. (Posted on 8/14/2015)
